1. Booking tickets online – general information

Without a kitag account, tickets can be purchased with a credit card or PostFinance card. With a kitag account, tickets can be purchased with a credit card or PostFinance card and also with a Carte Bleue.

Purchased tickets are sent as a PDF by email to the registered email address. If you do not want to print out the tickets, you can access them at any time in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – TICKET PURCHASES and simply show the tickets on your smartphone at the door.

You can also send the tickets to yourself or your friends as a Passbook/Pass Wallet file via email (only possible when purchasing with a kitag account) and therefore add them to the Passbook (iPhone) or Pass Wallet (Android smartphones) and likewise show the tickets directly on your mobile device at the door.

An online reservation under www.kitag.com is only possible with a Carte Bleue, as this is an exclusive service that is only open to Carte Bleue holders (kitag account required).

All transactions must be concluded within 180 seconds, otherwise the transaction will be aborted because the session has timed out.

2. Purchasing tickets online without a kitag account – brief introduction
  1. Select the corresponding city at the top left.
  2. Select the required film on the homepage or under PROGRAMME – NOW IN THE CINEMA.
  3. Select the required date and the showing time on the respective film page.
  4. Then the seating plan is displayed. Specify the number of seats and place them directly in the seating plan with the left-hand mouse button or using the touch function. Confirm the PURCHASE button.
  5. On the next page, select the “PURCHASE WITHOUT ACCOUNT” option.
  6. Enter the corresponding payment method (credit card or PostFinance card) with the pull-down menu and enter the card details.
  7. Enter the form of address, first name, surname and email address
  8. Using the pull-down menu, select the desired price category.
  9. Confirm the purchase and the data protection conditions and General Terms and Conditions.
  10. Complete the purchase via the “BUY TICKETS NOW” button.
  11. The purchase is confirmed on the next page and the tickets can be printed out here.
  12. The tickets are also sent to the specified email address as a PDF.
3. Purchasing tickets online with a kitag account – brief introduction
  1. Select the corresponding city at the top left.
  2. Select the required film on the Terms and Conditions. or under Terms and Conditions.
  3. Select the required date and the showing time on the respective film page.
  4. Then the seating plan is displayed. Specify the number of seats and place them directly in the seating plan with the left-hand mouse button or using the touch function. Confirm the PURCHASE button.
  5. On the next page, confirm the user name or the registered email address, enter the password and confirm with “LOG IN”.
  6. Enter the corresponding payment method (Carte Bleue, credit card or PostFinance card) with the pull-down menu and enter the card details. If there is no Carte Bleue in the account, this can be purchased here or added to the account. With a Carte Bleue with a valid subscription, up to 10 tickets can be purchased per showing at a discounted price of CHF 13 (CHF 15 for a 3D showing).
  7. If the subscription has expired, it can be renewed here. The balance on the Carte Bleue can also be increased here.
  8. Using the pull-down menu, select the desired price category.
  9. Confirm the purchase.
  10. Complete the purchase via the “BUY TICKETS NOW” button.
  11. On the next page, the purchase is confirmed and the tickets can be printed out here or sent individually to someone or to yourself as a PDF and Passbook/Pass Wallet.
  12. The tickets are also sent automatically to your registered email address as a PDF. Moreover, the tickets are automatically stored in your account under MY ACCOUNT – TICKET PURCHASES and can be accessed, distributed or printed out here.
4. Reserving tickets online – brief introduction

An online reservation under www.kitag.com is only possible with a Carte Bleue, as this is an exclusive service that is only open to Carte Bleue holders. The Carte Bleue must already have been added to the kitag account or added or purchased during the reservation on the final booking page.

  1. Select the corresponding city at the top left.
  2. Select the required film on the homepage or under PROGRAMME – NOW IN THE CINEMA.
  3. Select the required date and the showing time on the respective film page.
  4. Then the seating plan is displayed. Specify the number of seats and place them directly in the seating plan with the left-hand mouse button or using the touch function. Confirm the RESERVE button.
  5. On the next page, confirm the user name or the registered email address, enter the password and confirm with “LOG IN”.
  6. Select the corresponding Carte Bleue if there is more than one. If there is no Carte Bleue in the account, this can be purchased here or added to the account. With a Carte Bleue with a valid subscription, up to 10 tickets can be purchased per showing at a discounted price of CHF 13 (CHF 15 for a 3D showing).
  7. Using the pull-down menu, select the desired price category.
  8. Complete the reservation via the “RESERVE TICKETS NOW” button.
  9. Your reservation is confirmed on the next page. Your reserved tickets are available up until 20 minutes before the film starts.
  10. You can convert the reserved tickets in your kitag account directly into a ticket purchase (and cancel them) up to 20 minutes before the start of the showing under MY ACCOUNT – RESERVATIONS or collect them from any kitag cinema box office by presenting the Carte Bleue. Otherwise, the reservation is automatically de-allocated 20 minutes before the start of the showing.
5. New cinema week/from when are tickets available

A new cinema week in German-speaking Switzerland starts on a Thursday and lasts until Wednesday. The screening times are newly defined and programmed each week on the Monday morning for all cities (excluding presales). The tickets for the new cinema week are released on the Monday of the preceding week at 6:00 p.m. and are available at www.kitag.com, at all kitag cinema box offices and via the Carte Bleue app.

6. Rebooking/exchanging purchased tickets

Tickets already purchased can be exchanged for other tickets at a kitag cinema box office at any time prior to the showing, provided the showing is not sold out. To do this, the tickets and the purchase confirmation must be presented. If the purchase was made with a Carte Bleue, this must be shown as well.

7. Cancelling tickets purchased with a Carte Bleue

The tickets are not returnable. An exception to this rule is if tickets are returned at a kitag cinema box office prior to a showing for which the tickets were purchased and the showing is not sold out. For this purpose, the tickets and the Carte Bleue must be presented. The tickets are cancelled and the amount is credited to the Carte Bleue.

8. Cancelling tickets purchased online with a credit card or PostFinance card

The tickets are not returnable. An exception to this rule is if the tickets are exchanged for other tickets at a kitag cinema box office prior to the showing.

9. Booking/reserving wheelchair seats online

Wheelchair seats cannot be booked/purchased online. They can be reserved by phone, as advice is required during reservation. You will find the telephone number here.
