1. Opening a kitag account

You can open a kitag account under REGISTER with or without Carte Bleue.

To open a kitag account with a Carte Bleue, you must enter the Carte Bleue number under REGISTER (WITH CARTE BLEUE) and the relevant 12-digit PIN code and then fill in the form. You will find the Carte Bleue number and the PIN code on the box of the Carte Bleue.

To open a kitag account without Carte Bleue you only have to fill in the form under REGISTER (WITHOUT CARTE BLEUE).

Please note that in both cases you will be sent an automatically generated email message immediately after registering with a link to the specified email address in order to confirm it. The email address must be confirmed within 24 hours, otherwise the newly opened kitag account will not be activated and automatically deleted. In this case, you have to open a new account.

2. Lost Carte Bleue PIN code

We need a copy of a legally valid piece of ID (ID, passport or driving licence) and the Carte Bleue (reverse side with the number) for security reasons to be able to subsequently disclose the PIN code to you.

3. Forgotten log-in details

Have you forgotten your password? Please enter your registered email address under LOG-IN – Forgotten password and we will send you an email to reset your password.

Should your registered email address no longer be valid, we need a copy of a legally valid piece of ID (ID, passport or driving licence) for security reasons to be able to adjust your registered email address.

Have you forgotten your user name? Should you have opened your kitag account on the old kitag website with a user name and forgotten it, you can enter your registered email address under LOG-IN instead of the user name. Your user name will be displayed after logging into your account.

4. Change email address

When you are logged in, you can change your email address in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – PERSONAL DETAILS and confirm with “SAVE”. Please note that you will then be sent an automatically generated email message with a link to the new email address in order to confirm it. The email address must be confirmed within 24 hours, otherwise it will have to be changed again.

5. Change password

When you are logged in, you can change your password in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – CHANGE PASSWORD and confirm with “SAVE”.

6. Add/manage payment method

For security reasons, a credit card/PostFinance card can only be added to the account during a transaction. You can then manage it in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – PAYMENT METHOD (process card = change expiry date/remove card).

7. Manage Carte Bleue

When you are logged in, you can manage the Carte Bleue in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – CARTE BLEUE as follows:

•    View Carte Bleue number
•    check current Carte Bleue balance
•    Top up Carte Bleue balance with a credit card/PostFinance card (min. CHF 30/max. CHF 300)
•    view number and validity of free admittances
•    check validity of annual fee and renew it for one year for CHF 20 (only possible 14 days before expiry date)
•    transfer balance from one Carte Bleue card to another
•    disable lost/stolen Carte Bleue and therefore apply for replacement Carte Bleue (for a handling charge of CHF 10; see confirmation email)
•    disable virtual Carte Bleue (Enable > see confirmation email)
•    remove Carte Bleue from the account
•    add a new Carte Bleue to the account (by entering the Carte Bleue number and the 12-digit PIN code)
•    add Carte Bleue to the Passbook/Pass Wallet (this function can only be accessed from a mobile phone)

You can also renew the annual fee and top up the Carte Bleue directly at a kitag cinema or via the Carte Bleue app under “Profile > manage Carte Bleue”.

8. Manage tickets

Your valid cinema tickets can be accessed at any time under MY ACCOUNT – TICKET PURCHASES, and on a mobile phone they give you direct admission to the screen. You can also send the tickets to someone (or yourself) as a PDF and passbook/pass wallet under DISTRIBUTE TICKETS and/or print them out (print@home).

Online in your kitag account MY ACCOUNT – TICKET PURCHASES you will also find under an overview of your ticket purchases over the last six months.

Can I exchange/rebook purchased tickets?
Already purchased tickets can be exchanged for other tickets prior to the showing at a kitag cinema box office.

I have purchased tickets online with Carte Bleue or directly at a kitag cinema box office. Can I cancel them?
The tickets are not returnable. An exception to this rule is if tickets are returned at a kitag cinema box office prior to a showing for which the tickets were purchased and the showing is not sold out. For tickets purchased using Carte Bleue, the Carte Bleue must be presented during cancellation so that the amount can be credited back to the Carte Bleue. The Carte Bleue can also be accessed in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – CARTE BLEUE directly on a mobile phone or via the Passbook/Pass Wallet.

I purchased tickets online by credit card/with a PostFinance card. Can I cancel them?
The tickets are not returnable. An exception to this rule is if the tickets are exchanged for other tickets at a kitag cinema box office prior to the showing.

9. Manage reservations

You will find your valid reservations any time under MY ACCOUNT – RESERVATIONS. With a Carte Bleue, your reserved tickets are available up until 20 minutes before the film starts. You can convert reserved tickets in your account directly into a ticket purchase or cancel them.

An online reservation under kitag.com is only possible with a Carte Bleue, as this is an exclusive service which is only open to Carte Bleue holders.  A ticket purchase is possible under kitag.com with both a Carte Bleue and a credit card or PostFinance Card and via Swisscom EasyPay.

10. Purchase/Redeem cinema vouchers

Kitag cinema vouchers can be purchased online at kitag.com – SHOP – VOUCHERS (with a valid Carte Bleue, credit card or PostFinance card) or directly at all kitag cinema box offices in Zurich, Winterthur, Bern, Basel, St. Gallen and Lucerne with all the usual payment methods. Kitag cinema vouchers are valid for 2 years.

You can also add a message to personalise your e-voucher during the purchase and send it to someone by email. After you have successfully purchased them online the e-voucher(s) will be sent to you and/or the recipient by email and can be printed out at home. Please note that the purchased e-vouchers are not stored in the kitag account.

Can the e-vouchers be redeemed online?
Cinema vouchers and therefore also e-vouchers, complementary tickets and vouchers for cinema admittances can, for security reasons, only be redeemed directly at a kitag cinema box office.

You can also reserve seats in advance by telephone via the helpdesk number 0900 556 789 (CHF 1.50 per call + CHF 1.50 per minute, calls from a mobile phone will cost extra) and redeem the vouchers when you pick up your tickets at the cinema. The helpdesk is manned daily from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm (Fri/Sat until 11:00 pm). The reserved tickets are available for up to 45 minutes before the showing starts.

11. Priority Club

As a Carte Bleue customer you can register with our Priority Club for free online when opening the internet account or later in your kitag account under “MY ACCOUNT – SETTINGS – PRIORITY CLUB”.

As a member of the kitag Priority Club, you immediately benefit from our bonus system and can collect Priority Points. For every six discounted cinema tickets purchased with the Carte Bleue, you will receive one Priority Point. If you are entitled to one or more Priority Points, then these will be highlighted on the account overview page. You can collect your Priority Points at any time from a kitag box office upon presentation of your current Carte Bleue. You can also call up and show the Carte Bleue directly on your smartphone.

One Priority Point gives you one free soft drink, one medium popcorn or one ice cream from the kitag cinema kiosk.

12. Manage newsletter

You can manage the newsletter at all times in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – SETTINGS – NEWSLETTER ABOS or deactivate or reactive newsletter dispatch at any time. Moreover, here you can select your preferred genre and cities that you would like to be informed about via the newsletter.

13. Language versions

In your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – SETTINGS – LANGUAGE VERSIONS choose your preferred language version for cinema films. If your preferred language version is available for a film, then the relevant screenings will be shown first.

14. My favourites

What are my favourites? Under My Favourites you will find films and persons (actors, directors) who you marked on the respective film page via the heart button.

Your favourites are stored in your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – MY FAVOURITES. The films are listed in chronologically in alphabetical order according to the expected start date and the persons. You can review them here and remove them from the list using the heart button. The selected films and persons influence the personalised content on this website, such as STARS & NEWS or the News Feed in your account as well as the feed messages that you receive by email.

15. Feed messages

Feed messages are information emails with personalised content which are sent to your registered email address at regular intervals. The latest Stars & News articles and the personalised feeds are sent in the feed messages. The contents are influenced by the films and individuals you follow (My Favourites).

In your kitag account select under MY ACCOUNT – SETTINGS – FEED MESSAGES whether you want to receive the feed messages on a weekly or monthly basis. You can also cancel the feed messages here.

16. Prior reservations

What is a prior reservation? When you pre-reserve an upcoming film on our website under PROGRAMME > COMING SOON or PREVIEW you will be informed by email about the advance sale and you can exclusively secure your tickets for this film one hour before the sale starts.  When making your prior reservation you can already select the city you want and the language version.

You can view your prior reservations in your kitag account under My ACCOUNT – SETTINGS – PRIOR RESERVATIONS and delete them if necessary.

17. Change personal details

In your kitag account under MY ACCOUNT – PERSONAL DETAILS you can, for example, change your address or your registered email address. Please note that you will then be sent an automatically generated email message with a link to the new email address in order to confirm it. The email address must be confirmed within 24 hours, otherwise it will have to be changed again.

18. Delete internet account

For security reasons, we need a copy of a legally valid piece of ID (ID, passport or driving licence) to delete a kitag account.
You can either send these copies to

Please note down your email address (for fax or letter), your Carte Bleue number (if applicable) and a daytime telephone number where you can be reached. Please write “Delete kitag account” in the subject line. One of the security reasons is, for example, to prevent third parties who are not authorised to do so deleting an account. We ask for your understanding.
